"Yoga is a dance between control and surrender, between pushing and letting go, and when to push and when to let go becomes part of the creative process, part of the open-ended exploration of your being." - Joel Kramer
"Yoga is not a work-out, it is a work-in. And this is the point of spiritual practice; to make us teachable; to open up our hearts and focus our awareness so that we can know what we already know and be who we already are."- Rolf Gates
“Teach to learn” ~ Baba Hari Dass
To foster a safe and inclusive community that promotes equity and accessibility in yoga. To create a space where individuals can connect with themselves and their bodies. To empower individuals to take agency and make choices in their practice, and to assist them in building a loving relationship with themselves and others.
To create a respectful, loving, and inclusive environment that celebrates human diversity in all its forms. To provide students with the knowledge they need to adjust their practice in the moment. To ignite the fire of inquiry to assist students in their journey of self-discovery.
Community, Connection, Compassion, Kindness, Celebration of Diversity, Inclusion, Support, Respect, Honesty, Self-Reflection, Continuous Study, Patience.
I have zero tolerance for hostility, violence, bullying, racism, threats and harassment.
I am an inclusive and body-neutral yoga teacher born and raised in Mexico City. I have been living in Canada for 20 years (time flies!). I have a BA in Psychology and am a licensed Early Childhood Educator. I moved to Canada in 2005, and shortly after, I found Yoga. It started as an attempt to improve my posture, and it became so much more. It helped me find moments of quiet that translated into a more peaceful life. I have been practicing and teaching for over 19 years, and I love sharing this gift with people of all ages and abilities.
I have grown frustrated with the lack of representation of different bodies, genders and clothing in the mainstream media when it comes to fitness, health, wellness and yoga, so I want to offer options to people who want to practice yoga but don’t know how to make it work for themselves.
One of my main mantras for life is: “When everything else fails, just breathe.”
Throughout my life, I’ve always been drawn to the world of children. I have 20+ years of experience working with children and teens wearing a wide range of hats: psychologist, English teacher, Early Childhood Educator, yoga teacher, and support worker. I have taught classes to children, families, in daycares, schools and community events. I love sharing yoga with children because they inspire me and teach me about life's silliness, joy, and challenges.
I also really love teaching AcroYoga and Mandala Rock Painting workshops. In my free time, I love exploring the outdoors, running, hiking, canoeing and making delicious food with my husband and our fur babies.
